Consciousness

I have been working on and experimenting with new ideas, materials and inspirations within my surroundings in the last six months. Flow is my first exhibition in Nigeria since my arrival as a Fulbright scholar. It showcases dynamic wall sculptures that have been interpreted through different media, including, cloth, clay and burlap. I hope that the viewers enjoy the vibrancy and textures of the pieces on display. I look forward to seeing you at the opening and hearing from you!

  3. Nnenna,

I have spoken to Okwy about your works in the past. In my personal estimation and observation, your works transcend Art. Its a total embodiment of intellectual development of the African mind. While our paths might diverge on the surface (i.e. to the untrained eye), your works are akin to business education (my forte)and I duff my hat to your efforts at championing the African Beauty. Just before we get to the point of Q&A's I'd like to share two sites with you: 1. http://adonisandabbey.com/edition_detail.php?edition_id=75

  4. your amazing story so far gives warm vindication to those that were privileged to be there at the beginning. the talent was piercing and success was surely only a matter a time. hanging pride of place in my home,is a portrait you made of me then. nothing gives me greater joy than shamelessly pointing it out as yours and directing them to a new york times profile of you. i know that portrait will sell for an obscene amount of money when you are done with your career.

so as you continue your journey please know that im loudly rooting for you

    congrats

  5. Nnenna's "Flow" is transcendent and returns art to the abode of the imagination.

  7. Not being particularly "arty" myself, I sometimes struggle to see the point behind art pieces. However, I never fail to note the level of detail and careful attention which goes into any piece of work.
That is what shines through to me in these works. Keep up the good work.
